[D7, LE] Karaoke Room

[Hantei Kinsen]

Kinsen returns to the Camellia House and gets a private room along a couple of house musicians to provide entertainment. Then, she waits for the arrival.

[Doji Misaki]

The arrives very soon indeed, being punctual.



Misaki wore the outfit she'd worn to the play, the only thing she owned that wasn't much more simple attire. Having been shown in, the young woman bowed to Kinsen, "Good evening. I hope I did not make you wait long; I had trouble finding layers to put over this to keep out the cold of the night."

[Hantei Kinsen]

Kinsen wears a brown kimono with an inner white layer alongside a tight sarashi partially visible from underneath. Her winter cover is already removed. She stands up and greets Misaki with a bow, "Welcome Doji-san,Good evening. It will get warm soon. Please, do find a good seat."

She smiles and gets closer to the Doji to serve her some sake and get a good view of the performers in front of them. While pouring, she says, "I took the liberty to asking the housekeeper here at the Camellia to get us a pair os musicians so they would play something of our liking."

[Doji Misaki]

Taking a seat, Misaki makes herself comfortable, "Thank you for the consideration; It is getting most chilly outside indeed."

Misaki recognized the musicians from when Tsubaki had had them playing the other day but said nothing; They were there as entertainment, not as her focus. That would be the Hantei woman pouring sake for her, whom Misaki faced from her cushion, "And to our liking, hm? I have quite a few songs in mind myself, though I wasn't precisely sure what you had in mind yourself. We could take turns or sing together or even offer suggestions to each other for what might be fun, after all."

[Hantei Kinsen]

" Un~!" Kinsen expresses out loud as she puts the sake bottle back into the tray. Then, she says, after she burrows herself a bit further into the cushion with a wast wiggle. "Please, do the honors. Which song would you like to sing along –– and why?"

[Doji Misaki]

"Ah, well... I was thinking of singing some songs about the end of winter I know. Songs about the melting snow and new life. To think of the future and the world emerging into flowers and beauty once more."

[Hantei Kinsen]

"Oh..." Kinsen brightens and remembers, "I know one like this..."

She starts to clap hands into a proper rhythmic, singing...

"Da-ra. Da-ru. A-Bobobobobo-wu... The hot, the cold are both so intense. Put them together, it just makes sense."

The Stag looks to Misaki, wondering if she would be able to sing the next phrase so the performers would be able to play the full song for them to sing.

Misaki had certainly heard of the song. She gives nod, "The one about winter being inside and being a time to cuddle? A duet then?"

She looked up into Kinsen's golden eyes with a smile.

Kinsen blinks, asking incredulous, "I thought it was a single singer. But, if Misaki-chan says it is a duet?"

She shrugs and keeps singing while her head moves closer to the Doji until they rub shoulders, "Ra-ta-ta-ta-ta. Relaxing in the summer sun. Just letting off steam..."

[Doji Misaki]

Misaki blushes deeply, afraid she has offended the older woman. But when the singing picks back up and she's invited to join along she does so, her mood seeming to brighten. It was true she would be just as happy listening to Kinsen singing; Her voice was intoxicating. But singing with her was a special treat of its own, and she did so with her sweet feminine gusto.

"Oh the sky will be blue, and you'll be there too..."

[Hantei Kinsen]

"When we finally do what people do in... summer!" She sings louder, nearly giggling, as if singing to Lord Moon above the ceiling.

Then, she looks to Misaki with a side glance, and pulls a lot of air for the final part together. "In..."

[Doji Misaki]

"....summmmmmerrrrrr~!"

She lets the notes hold as long as Kinsen does, though she didn't have as much breath in her as the more fit woman, Misaki, letting out a sigh of relief followed by a small grin as the song wraps up.

"That was very fun, singing with you. I really do love your singing voice~"

[Hantei Kinsen]

"Nani?" Kinsen giggles, looking at her for a moment, "My voice is ter-ri-ble. It sounds like a hoarse cat trying to meow their owner to get food."

With pressed lips and a shake of her head, the tall Stag inclines herself forward from her seiza and starts to fill up a cup for Misaki. She says, "Now it is your turn, pick a song and let me find out."

After pouring, she offers with both hands.

[Doji Misaki]

Misaki nodded; Personally, she loved the passion and feeling that Kinsen sang with, but she could appreciate that it was a raw talent. Not the melodious sounds of a songstress but the sound of a field worker putting their all into something. And she let Kinsen know as such.

Still, she had a song to pick, so soon she had one in mind.

"Do you know this one perhaps? Gone awaaaay, is the blue bird. Here to staaaay, is a new bird~ It sings a love song, as we go along..."

Kinsen's eyes brighten as she hears the song and remembers it. Yet, words just come up as she snaps her fingers and hums the songs rhythmic.

She laughs, stops and then says, as if inspired by the Fortunes, "Ta-nanana Winter Wonderlaaaaaaaand!"

[Doji Misaki]

Smiling, Misaki continues singing the song with Kinsen, enjoying herself in the little private room. She makes sure to take a quick drink of the warm wine between verses to wet her throat, the Hantei woman having taken the time to pour it for her, after all.

[Hantei Kinsen]

"What is the song that you think best describes you?" Kinsen asks tilting her head.

[Doji Misaki]

"Flowers Will Bloom."

A very immediate response, as if she'd thought about the question before.

"A farmer's song about hope for the future through sharing of feelings and helping the next generation. It acknowledges tough things may happen even as I acknowledge that bad things have happened in my own life. But that flowers can bloom in even troubled times, if we will but help them grow."

The Lady of the Stag stays silent for quite some time as the performers play the song in the background. Kinsen's eyes get delighted by the message and the connection Misaki has in heart, both about herself and the future.

"That's a very lovely description, Misaki-chan."

[Doji Misaki]

"Thank you, Kinsen-sama. I am a bit of a sentimental romantic sometimes, so I suppose that's how I view things. Do you have a song in mind for yourself then?"

She seems quite curious indeed.
