Kuni had nightmares of the horrible creatures he had seen on his journey down South, the horrible things the Seekers brought him reports about, his friends and family becoming monstrosities.

It went on like this. Every horrible thing that crept in his mind was met with a Jade Strike.

He woke up smiling.

Sagara was deep in sleep when dark dreams approached her mind. She could sense her babies nearby and the heat of the fire that had destroyed it all once before. The fire grew and grew, it was everywhere as she heard the screams of the babies in their rooms. Sagara reached to her face as tears started to form, and yet, there was her scar. A reminder of the day that fire had taken her family away. But now she knew best. Her determination took over and she called the kami to her aide, water formed under her spreading and putting the fire out before it reached any of her loved ones.

As he lay on his mat, Kyosei's mind felt the influence of . . . something else. Without waking, or having too, his hand reached out, and grasped the jade piece kept by his bed.

He settled more firmly into the dreams, of spoiling his grandbaby...
