[Otomo Gusai]

"If I can," Gusai says. "What's the trouble?"

[Bayushi Sasori]

"I am a lousy fisherman." She frowned. "If I was to catch a fish how would I go about?"

[Otomo Gusai]

"You'd first determine what kind of fish you're after," Gusai replies, sitting up and turning to face her. Placing his hands on her knees, he continues. "That'll tell you what kind of tackle you need, and what bait."

[Bayushi Sasori]

"How about if all fish seem interesting Otomo sama?" Her golden eyes met his lonely brown and his eyepatch. She adverted her look as she looked at her fan. She whispered to herself. "Duty..." The Bayushi picked it up and opened as she started to fan herself. "There are so many fish... and well..." She shook her head. "I have no bait to make even an attempt on fishing."

[Otomo Gusai]

"Then cast a wide net," Gusai replies, "and see what you get therein.

"But as to what bait you have," he continues, "I think you have more than you realize. I could show you somewhat, did you wish it."

[Bayushi Sasori]

"Nya?" The girl tilted her head quizzically. "What if the net is broken or it doesn't open when is tossed?" Then she smiled. "You are the master." The girl reached to his face to follow the line of the jaw. "Tell me what I have that I do not know?"

[Otomo Gusai]

"Then you mend the net, and you cast again, of course," Gusai replies, and his hands begin to slide up from her knees.

"As to what you have that you don't know, well," he adds, "you'd have to know what you do know. Or I would."

[Bayushi Sasori]

"I have my mask Otomo sama." She started to glare at the curious hand. Her fan is not that far from view. He is lucky that it is not the weighted fan that she took out. Sasori glared also at the fan then back to the Otomo. "Tell me what you know and I will tell you if I knew it or not."

[Otomo Gusai]

Gusai notes the glare; even with one eye, he sees it, and his hands return to his own lap.

"I know that you're a beauty," he says, "even if your manner is such that you don't let others see it so much. "And I know that you have secrets, as we all do, and those will necessarily draw others in. Clever hands, too," he adds. "Not least because of the fans, though they will themselves be of interest.

"More," he continues, "it's clear to me that you're working under some duress. And there are no few who, knowing that, would help you address it--and the time together in doing so would be a powerful pull. Indeed," and he sighs, "facing trials together binds people most tightly."

[Bayushi Sasori]

"Just to be forgotten the next day. I must cover those wounds that are not there. The idea that I have secrets it is...." She looks at her mon on her kimono. "It is part of the clan... I work for my master... yet my master likes to play games with this one."

[Otomo Gusai]

Gusai sighs.

"Of what wounds do you speak?" he asks. "Are you injured?"

[Bayushi Sasori]

"My sadness is my wound, my loneliness is my scar." The girl frowned. "My injury is my desire. A sin..." Sasori chuckled self depreciatively. "I wish you worry not for this one." She place her hand on his head.

[Otomo Gusai]

"How not?" Gusai replies, putting his own hand back on her head. She seemed to like that, he recalls. "But what do you desire? To catch a fish to dine upon for a day? To find one to keep in an ornamental pond? Something else, entirely? Perhaps I can help, if you tell me."

[Bayushi Sasori]

Indeed she enjoyed the pets. The young lady smiled at the concerned Otomo. "To... find my father... you don't have to help."

[Otomo Gusai]

Gusai strokes her more firmly.

"I might've seen him; I've seen a lot of people. What's his name?"

[Bayushi Sasori]

"Yumekaro... He is always hooded and is mysterious looking man. He wears a mask to not be recognized. He has red hair like myself and golden eyes." She smiled brightly at the possibility of the Otomo meeting her dad.

Gusai nods, wracking his memory for such a person...

"I've not met him, myself," Gusai admits, "but other captains have spoken of him. One or two mentioned that he'd booked passage with them; I believe one said he'd tried his hand at crewing--but, to be fair, we were drinking heavily that night."

He considers. "Was there a particular mask he favored?"

[Bayushi Sasori]

Sasori took her fan to hide her glow. She was so happy to hear even gossip about the man she calls father. He could see her eyes tear up. "A... simple... simple noh mask... he never... he never... wanted ... to call...to call attention so he wore a simple noh mask." Her tears fell down her cheek as her glee overpowered her.

[Otomo Gusai]

Gusai sees the tears, reaches with one hand to brush them away.

"It's alright, Bayushi-san," he says, his voice lowered. "I'll ask around after him when I'm back out, see if I can't send you word or him your way."
