The faintest of chuckles behind a fan, when there was a moment to do so. Nozomi happening to notice that a few were making an effort to record it, said a tiny prayer to Fukurokujin to guide their hands and leaned in after a proper bow to whisper to Satsuki, during one of the luls in the conversation. "As usual, I am dwarfed by that man's wisdom. He is forever a lesson in humility, not that I mind it. I have much to learn, after all," she breathed out.Togashi Satsuki wrote: ↑Sat Jun 19, 2021 11:09 pmSatsuki didn't have much luck managing to copy anything down, but she sat back to listen in on the exchange.
It gave her a good feeling of home.
"We all continue to grow and learn throughout life," she agreed with a soft tone, not wishing to disturb those paying close attention. "Even the wisest ones like Shinsei-sensei and my father. And honored uncle Shiba too."Nozomi wrote: ↑Sun Jun 20, 2021 12:00 amThe faintest of chuckles behind a fan, when there was a moment to do so. "She does not take after me in that," she said in a faint, small and amused tone. "She drinks knowledge the way that a fish takes to the water. It is a gift of hers. Always eager to know more. As you say, we are always learning, but I think she would love to learn it all right now."Togashi Satsuki wrote: ↑Sun Jun 20, 2021 12:16 am"We all continue to grow and learn throughout life," she agreed with a soft tone, not wishing to disturb those paying close attention. Satsuki offered a smile and a bow to Nozomi. "Your daughter seems enraptured."
"Don't we all?" she said, clearly relating much to Mayumi in that regard.Nozomi wrote: ↑Sun Jun 20, 2021 12:22 am"She does not take after me in that," she said in a faint, small and amused tone. Her eyes canted in the direction of Ayumu and she breathed a small sigh of relief. Where Sora was a man how valued knowledge, Ayumu was a man greatly skilled in chronicling it. He, or Kuu, she trusted would fare better at managing what she could not. "If this wisdom could be contained, if wisdom could ever be contained, future generations could grow from it, yes. And perhaps for someone like me, there would be time enough to learn." She was patient. "I'm just so happy that more and more peopel get the chance to learn things... I know the library and teaching in Great Falls is a great passion of mother, and I share in it too. Maybe Shinsei's wisdom can reach more people, if we write it down like this?"
Calmly, the divine-blooded princess watched Nozomi with a look of contemplation. Seeming so much more like her father than her mother in this moment, as if those otherworldly eyes saw something others did not.Nozomi wrote: ↑Sun Jun 20, 2021 12:51 amHer eyes canted in the direction of Ayumu and she breathed a small sigh of relief. "The teachings of that man changed the path of my life. That meeting opened a new path of my life that I did not imagine possible, and it saved me from myself. Since that time, I have sought with others to share the stories of people's journey, to help them realize the potential within themselves, and to see the potential within myself." It came smoothly to her tongue, familiar not only from having been said many times, but just regular returning. "I don't know if I will ever see the end of my journey in this life, before I find Meido's plains, but before that day, I want to be able to help others in their path as I was helped."Togashi Satsuki wrote: ↑Sun Jun 20, 2021 1:32 amCalmly, the divine-blooded princess watched Nozomi with a look of contemplation. "Why do you seek wisdom, Nozomi-san?" she asked.
Satsuki listened, nodding along to Nozomi's words, and settled on a smile at the end.Nozomi wrote: ↑Sun Jun 20, 2021 1:40 am"The teachings of that man changed the path of my life. Pausing in his work for a moment, Hikaru came to accept a bit of the water that was on offer. His eyebrows went up as he recognized the samurai from the gardens the other night.Jiyo Ayumu wrote: ↑Sat Jun 19, 2021 11:35 pmAyumu came back from a quick trip to the kitchen with a few pitchers full of water, and improvised a break corner by putting them on a table near an exit, accessible in a few steps but far away from the fragile paper to avoid unfortunate incident.
He himself took a good mouthful to restore physical balance among his body. The balance inside his head would have to wait for his brain to truly catch up with all that had been said.
"Thank you. I consider it a good thing to do, at the very least. If I can help aa few find meaning in their place in life, then I consider it a victory." She looked on at them and smiled to herself. "I have a lot to be grateful for, so why not share that gratitude?"Togashi Satsuki wrote: ↑Sun Jun 20, 2021 1:48 amSatsuki listened, nodding along to Nozomi's words, and settled on a smile at the end.
"It's a worthy way to live one's life." She looked over to the ongoing conversation, then back to Nozomi. "The journey lasts a lifetime."
"And has gotten moreso in the last fifteen years."Yoshitsune Chizu wrote: ↑Sun Jun 20, 2021 12:14 am"He seems so wise," Chizu commented to whomever was nearby. Clutched in one hand were her notes from Shinsei's conversation with the Emperor; they were a little crumpled and it looked like a number of characters had been crossed out and scrawled over with corrections.
“It was… confusing, to be honest,” the tall woman admitted as she returned a bow. “I understood the koan about the good sheep and the bad sheep. But what does ‘You own every sword you sneak’ mean? Or ‘the road to revenge leads to the bun’?”
"Well, that makes two of us. Don't let it worry you too much, I think he's been working on this for years, no shame in failing to grasp it in an afternoon."Yoshitsune Chizu wrote: ↑Sun Jun 20, 2021 3:19 am“It was… confusing, to be honest,” the tall woman admitted as she returned a bow. “I understood the koan about the good sheep and the bad sheep. She shook her head glumly. “He’s obviously full of wisdom, and I thought I understood at first. But the more I thought about it, the more confused I got.”
