Yoshitsune Chizu was soon shown to the private tea room by one of the teahouse attendants. The tall woman wore a modestly draped kimono of sturdy construction, bound at the waist by a length of blue cloth. She bowed deeply in greeting.
“Good afternoon, Hantei-sama,” Chizu said in a polite tone. “Thank you very much for this invitation.”

"Yoshitsune-san. Please, treat me well. I hope Lady Sun has brought you warm and sustenance today." She grins, bows, and then takes a good look at the young girl.
After the analysis, she waves for her to seat. and then waves for her to sit. "Find a seat here in front of me so I can get you comfortable."

The Crab girl obediently seated herself on one of the cushions. "Lady Sun has been kind today," she said. "Thank you for asking. I hope Hantei-sama is doing well today?"
As the junior, Chizu began pouring the tea.

"Ara, ara." Mentions, Kinsen with a motherly tone of voice. "Here I was thinking that I could spoil you a bit, and instead, Yoshitsune-san shows me that not only fierce and beautiful, she's respectful and well-mannered beyond expectations."
The Stag's eyes can't betray she sincerity behind her words.

Chizu's cheeks colored slightly and she lowered her head modestly.
"Hantei-sama flatters me," Chizu said as she passed the first tea cup to Kinsen. "Though if anyone deserves credit, it is my etiquette teacher, who was very patient in teaching me."

"When credit is deserved, it has to be given. Yoshitsune-san is a marvelous student, indeed." Kinsen takes the tea and make mention to serve the Crab, if she would allow.
"Coincidence or not, I am myself extremely grateful to my own sensei. She has managed to turn the former Noriaki Beast into a Wife to a Champion." She muses, thinking about Doji-kami.

"Hantei-sama's behavior is, of course, irreproachable," Chizu said politely as she accepted the cup offered by Kinsen. "Your every movement and every word makes it clear that you are deservedly one of the Great Ladies of the Empire."

She provides a seated bow to the maiden and sips her tea, taking the time to savor the moment and warm herself.
After a couple of heartbeats, Kinsen's red nails clack on the teacup porcelain, and she replies, "So does Yoshitsune-san's."
The Lady of the Stag smiles, and those batting eyelashes do work their charm with mere silence and admiration.

Chizu ducked her head and smiled, clearly affected by Kinsen's words.
"Hantei-sama is too kind," she protested politely. "I'm really no one of importance. But it's very generous of you to spend time with me. I won't forget your kindness."

"It is not about importance, but what you have showed so far, and the potential you certainly have." Kinsen sips her tea, and asks, "Tell me more about you family. Father, mother, siblings..."

“Well, my parents came originally from the Seidou tribe, before the arrival of Lord Hida and the other kami,” Chizu began. “They became some of the first followers of Lord Yoshitsune, taking his family name. My father, Yoshitsune Eiji, is warrior-trained and became one of the first Crab to study Yoshitsune’s school of bushido.” She looked rather proud at this. “It’s my father who first taught me wrestling, and the use of the tetsubo - the spiked metal stick. I know it’s not a common weapon among the other clans, but we Crab find it very effective against armored opponents. Later, I studied in Yoshitsune's school as well.”
“My mother, Yoshitsune Masami, is a metalworker and a smith,” Chizu continued. “The Seidou were gifted at this art, and it’s served our clan well. It’s from her that I inherited much of my strength.” She flexed one arm slightly to demonstrate.
“I have a younger sister, also,” she added. “Ayako. But she’s still just a girl.”

"Your father is also an amazing sensei. Your jujutsu is formidable." Kinsen smiles, and takes another sip. Her full attention taking notes of everything Chizu says. She asks, with serenity, "Are you aware of your parents expectations on your future?"

"I couldn't speak for my parents on the future," Chizu admitted. "But they were both very firm that I should do my best to represent the Crab Clan while here in the capital. It's very important for our clan to make a positive impression in court."

"I would like to vouch to your parents that Yoshitsune-san is indeed doing a great service to them and to her Clan. May I write a letter with such recommendation?" She says, taking another sip.

"That... would be most kind, Hantei-sama," Chizu said, blinking a little as her heart leaped. A recommendation from
the Lady Kinsen! She could hardly believe it.
"But surely I'm unworthy of praise from such an important person as yourself," she protested, keeping perfect composure only through great effort.

"Nonsense." Kinsen waves her hand dismissively, "You're an exceptional maiden, of a very distinct Family that I have great esteem for. I will be my honor and insist that you don't return home form this court without this letter in hand."

"I am happy, then. I'll also include in it that I personally believe their daughter is my personal choice for the betrothal of my dear Genji-kun. It is something I'll propose to him soon." Kinsen puts the tea cup back on the tray, and take hands on her lap.

A moment paused as Chizu absorbed this revelation. A hint of surprise crossed her face, then she smiled and bowed her head.
"I am greatly honored by Hantei-sama's trust in me," Chizu said, trying her best to appear grown-up and not overwhelmed by this possibly life-changing event. "Such a decision is up to my parents, of course - but I'm almost certain they would be receptive to such a match. From everything I've seen, your son is an excellent young man - a person of quality. With... with your permission, I shall try to become better acquainted with him."
