A testament to Tsubaki's web of favors and connections the Imperial Camellia House is a large, stone structure all the more impressive for having been erected in a single year thanks to the assistance of a number of Isawa shugenja. The side bearing the entrance shows the careful sculpting and carving, primarily plant and nature themed, that will eventually come to decorate the entire edifice once work can begin again post-winter.

After an entrance chamber where guests can leave shoes and outerwear, and where hangs a scroll bearing the rules of the house, one enters into the house proper. The center of the house is a large hearth, the smoke of which is carried away by a fluted stone chimney above, providing light, heat, and a place to prepare the food served along with the tea. The stone walls have been lined with warm, welcoming wood and the entire house is decorated in a minimalist, if still exquisite, Crane fashion.

From the front of the house until just past the hearth are a number of small, semi-private spaces created from rice paper dividers. A small brazier sits at the center of each for preparing the water for tea, as well as some additional warmth and light, and is surrounded by comfortable cushions allowing for comfortable seating for four. While a few more could likely squeeze in the hosts advise against such uncouth displays and suggest reserving time for a private room instead. For parties of a reasonably small size a host can be requested to perform the tea ceremony.

After the hearth the house opens up into larger common seating facing a great stage at the back of the house where there is always some variety of music or dance performance going for the entertainment of guests. Hosts circulate bringing tea and food as requested to those observing the show.

The walls between hearth and stage contain doorways leading to the private rooms of the house. Each features its own irori and enough space for a small party of guests, a host, and perhaps an entertainer or two. These rooms are used for the tea ceremony for larger groups or honored guests as well as any large gathering that seeks privacy.

Past the stage another, smaller, doorway leads to the back storerooms of the house as well as a ladder leading upstairs to where the room of the house mother and barracks for the staff can be found.
