The Stag common room was artfully decorated, of course, though mostly bare. Except for the single samurai sitting in stag colors, awaiting his guest. He has requested some tea, of course, and some appropriate snacks, though it did feel odd to host the proprietress of a tea house with tea. But then, what else was there? Water? Sake? He did have some Nezumi spirit lying around from his ventures there...

Tsubaki arrives wearing one of her finest outfits which, for a Crane, was saying quite a bit. It was not every day one met with an ally, the child of a god, and heir to a clan... all in one package no less.

With a flourish she made appropriate obeisance for their difference in station, "Good morning, Hantei-sama, it is an honor to be in your presence."

"Doji-san." Genji gave a deep bow, deeper than warranted. "It is you who honor me." He indicated towards the seating arrangements.

"Please, take a seat. I hope our dear Raven has been doing well since the other night?"

Despite the somewhat complex outfit Tsubaki still lowers herself smoothly and easily into a sitting position, "Thank you Hantei-sama. Fate has been kind so far to me and I hope the same can be said for yourself?"

Genji somewhat marvels at the ease of descent in that many layers of silk. "Well, I am glad then doji-san. Hai, things have been good, quite good so far. Our Emperor's hospitality is impeccable, of course, and I hear there's a marvellous tea house in the area as well."

"Ah, certainly. You see, I was invited to a sort of ice breaker, after the snow fell. The name was a bit on the nose, but neh." He winked at her. "Hopefully I can visit more often as well."

"Certainly Doji-san." He gave a small nod of his head in acknowledgment.

"Have you been in the capitol long?"

"I arrived early last spring to start construction on the Camellia House and have been here since. I was to have departed after the wedding but it seems winter has other plans."

"Well, that certainly was a quick construction then." He smiled, once again. "It is a marvelous house, for certain. Is this your first foray into such a venture?"

She smiles and nods, "Thankfully the Emperor saw fit to aid in the endeavor and I had the assistance of a number of the Isawa. Construction is quick indeed when they can simply ask the stone to move into position. Most of the work has been in the finer points such as decoration. As for the concept it is not the first. I built the first in the community that has grown around Lady Doji-sama's palace and my daughters have expanded to a few of the other larger Crane communities."

"Ah, I see. My uncle does have good eye for what would bring prosperity." He spread his hands. "He has an Empire, after all."

He took a sip of his tea, his golden eyes wandering over the many layers of kimono. "Your daughters than must be as talented as yourself, Doji-san."

Her eyes sparkle a little with humor, "Well, nearly so at least." For the ones allowed to become daughters that is....

"And Hantei-sama? What endeavors do you have your heart and skills set to?"

"Well, mostly I would like to improve things for my clan, you know. Better relations with our neighbors, and those further away."

He took another sip. "Was the Imperial city your first move away from Crane lands?"

She nods, "Always good goals to have. And, yes, this was the first of the Camellia Houses outside of Crane lands. I was lucky that the Emperor enjoyed his visit so much to the one in Lady Doji's surroundings that he extended an invitation to begin one here. I always hoped they would one day expand into other lands but getting interest and permission is no easy task. That there is now one in the heart of the Imperial City and with the Emperor's own endorsement will make that much smoother."

"Certainly. In fact, if Doji-san were so inclined, I am certain we would gladly welcome such an establishment in our own lands. At least, I can put in a nice word, for sure."

Tsubaki offers a warm smile, "That is most gracious, Hantei-sama, and surely would be a massive boon." She lowers her voice in faux-conspiracy, "Were your mother to ask I shall pretend that I negotiated fiercely and shrewdly for such a favor."

Genji leaned in. "It was a most difficult and tense conversations. Tears were shed, marriages broken, and a horse slain." He smiled at her. "Perhaps one of your daughters could come and help you set up?"

A soft laugh and a nod, "That is usually the process. I oversee the initial development to make sure it is proper then pass control to one who has proven themselves to have the proper talents. For one so important as a major city in the lands of an ally they would have to be talented indeed. Likely Ichi - her gempukku is nearly upon her and her skills are enough that I have trusted her with teaching her siblings while I was here."
