A New Dawn, A New Day, A New Life (D6, EM, Closed)

[Doji Tsubaki]

With the rise of Lady Sun Ni and San had sought out Tsubaki's quarters as usual to begin their lessons for the day. They were surprised, on being bidden to enter, to find Tsubaki happily humming to herself as she worked on a project.

In front of her the crown she had won at the Stag ball was slowly transforming the antlers being covered with vines and flowers... though the slight impression of the horns still managed to show through.

"Ah girls. It's a lovely day, isn't it? How about we take a bit of time off and enjoy it. No lessons today. Do as you see fit... just keep out of too much trouble."

The two young women exchanged a concerned and questioning glance behind their mother/teacher's back. Not once since she had taken them as charges had they had an off day. Nor had she ever shown them this type of happiness and friendliness Outside of the public eye preferring a harsh love... if love was ever the right word. Yet at the same time who were they to question such a benevolent change and, if they were, would the fallout of questioning be even worse?

Eventually Ni, the elder by a few months, squeaks out a "Yes ma'am." before both bow deep and hurry to scurry out of the room before whatever change has come over Tsubaki ends.

Eventually Tsubaki finishes her fussing with the crown. While it would not match the efforts of a true artisan it was more than sufficient for the moment.

Smiling Tsubaki slipped it carefully into place and arranged her hair around it before departing to face the day.
