[Ryoshun Rei]

"What was will be again." she nodded. "There is a cycle to the world. Sometimes we can best understand our future by listening to our past."

[Kakita]

He nodded, “I suppose I am not alone when I wish I could converse with those in the past... glean whatever knowledge I can.”

He sighed, “I still can’t quite und....”

He stopped himself and shook his head as he looked out of the windows towards the city.

He let out another long breath, “I suppose it isn’t necessary for us to have everything at our disposal.”

[Ryoshun Rei]

"That may be for the best." she agreed. "Although I do wish there was a shrine to my father nearby."

[Kakita]

“Perhaps something that you could bring up with the Emperor at some point.” He suggested.

[Ryoshun Rei]

"Perhaps." she nodded. "It is something we could build, given the space."

[Kakita]

He nodded affirmatively not wishing to push the young scion one way or the other too strongly. This was something for the woman to decide upon herself.

[Ryoshun Rei]

"Could you tell me about your father, Kakita-san?" she asked after a moment of silence. "You have spoken of him, but not about him. I'd like to know more, if I may."

[Kakita]

He nodded, “Gladly Lady Rei.”

He continued to look out over the city, “He was the final chief of the Kakita tribe. A good man. He raised my sister and I after our mother died when we were still very young. He loved his kin... and they all loved and respected him. When he devoted himself to the Lady Doji, his example encouraged many to declare for her as well within the tribe.”

A slight look of remorse flickered on the corner of his eyes, “The last time I met with him was before I traveled out to confront a troll which was rumored to be attacking some villages in the western regions of Crane lands. He had become ill in the months before I left. He made me promise to return safely; and I made him promise to still be there when I got back.”

He paused, “Then I spent years training with the Kenku... and when I returned I was told he had killed himself when I had not returned... and that my sister had run away...”

[Ryoshun Rei]

"I will do whatever I can to help you find answers." she promised. "I don't know what that will entail, but we'll find a way."

[Kakita]

He nodded, “The answers that I seek are for today Rei-sama. There is an illness amongst my old kin... whatever I can do to combat it now... that is what my father would want for his people.”

[Ryoshun Rei]

"Then tell me what you find. If there is a spiritual issue, I may be able to address it."

[Kakita]

“I will. Destiny has pushed me here and now... I am sure that it will guide us forward. I am grateful that I have someone of your capability to rely upon.” He turned and offered a sincere bow.

[Ryoshun Rei]

"And, I am grateful to have such a stalwart defender and companion." she returned the bow. "Now, have you had breakfast? I think we should go have breakfast."

[Kakita]

He nodded, "As you desire."

The pair then walked down the corridor towards sustenance...
