The Emperor of Rokugan, Shiba is extraordinarily tall, topping 7 feet. Like all of the Kami, he is stunningly beautiful, almost difficult to look upon by most mortals, though he pales in comparison to his sister, Doji, or his brother, Hisomu. Shiba is a contemplative man, and has been a patron of the rising movement toward contemplative asceticism. He has also sponsored the building of libraries throughout the Empire. He is also kind, and prefers debate and diplomacy to battle to solve disputes. That said, he is no slouch as a warrior, as his win at the tournament of the Kami 20 years ago demonstrated.

For those that remember the wild haired Ayakashi who attended the first meeting of the Kami at Seppun Hill nearly twenty years ago much has changed about Yuzuru. The hair is longer and now tamed. Stylish even. The clothing is no longer rough and pale, but exquisitely tailored and bright reds and purples. Although he must be in his late thirties by now, he appears no more than mid twenties. He still carries the air of one attuned to the elements and hears whispers of the future but he has also grown into one that has power and wields it carefully. Life with his beloved Shiba has changed Yuzuru of the Ayakashi, yet there are still two constants in the life of the Imperial Consort. He is still blinded by his power as a Seer, and a fox still stands by his side, ready to guide him where he needs to be. Hsieh-Hsieh is the current holder of Han-Han's legacy, a grizzled elder fox well know for his almost human judgemental stare he reserves for those he feels deserve it.

A young woman some have come to call Bayushi's Shadow. Her appearance at this court is a rare moment away from his side, and one that causes her clear discomfort to the eyes of the few who notice her long enough to consider such things. Those who can also note that she's actually quite beautiful, despite the eye's tendency to slide away from her to anything else. She is present representing the Scorpion Clan at the wedding.

Now much older and wiser than he was during the trip to the Shadowlands, Shinsei has come to court during the wedding for his own inscrutable reasons. His rock, at Shiba's request, has taken up residence in the castle gardens, rather than being carted around with him all the time.

Shinsei's crow. Enjoys drawing people into staring contests for its own amusement. Seems to have taken a dislike to the groom.

One of the guests of honor, the betrothed of Doji and Nanzi's second daughter, Ananzihime. A member of Nanzi's former tribe, Hadananzi is charismatic, handsome, and well-spoken. He's insinuated himself quickly into the inner circle of the Crane leadership since he arrived 20 years ago. He always has a kind word for those around him, and dotes on his wife to be.

The future daimyo of the Nanzi family of the Crane Clan and one of the guests of honor in the Emperor's court. While she has somewhat lived in her older sister's shadow, she carries no apparent resentment in that regard, focusing instead on developing her artisan skills and her own eventual duties as the Nanzi family daimyo. She's soft-spoken, intelligent, an excellent conversationalist, and carries herself with her mother's elegance.
