A way around this in canon Rokugan was to gift the story or lesson of the weapon not the weapon itself. The weapon just went along with it as a reminder of the story/lesson given.

Yeah, I gave up on THAT around like, 2014 Winter Court 3, I was Johnny on the Spot, trying to stay updated on the entire plot. I, ah... stopped about three days in, and haven't tried since.

Plus! It lets you plausibly maintain your character's ignorance of stuff they weren't there for!

Frankly, they might start getting timeslots I decide Sora is spending with Kinyoubi... and might not all move around en bloc like they have been

Early on I don't try to read everything, but as game settles in more I find characters and storylines I like to follow outside of my own.

This is why Memorable Moments are good too since it alerts me to interesting things!

Apologies still for those waiting on me in threads. Star Wars game is still occupying my mind, but I will try to post some tonight.
