A: That the Isawa had mastered rice cultivation as of Heavenfall
B: The Spider currently reside in former Isawa lands
C: They have access to rice cultivation, and through that, a calorically dense staple crop that could be exported.

B: Yes.
C: Rice cultivation is spreading anyway as a result of many Isawa joining both the Spider and Imperials, but at the moment, yes.
