Kuni came to redeem himself. He went to work quickly, sewing a winter design of his own inspired Chizu's kimono from yesterday.

It was simple, but elegant. You would never know it was from the same man who made the kimono from yesterday.

Sagara gathered her materials and equipment. Luckily she had some stone material with a decent shape to work to her final result, decent size and proportions. The samurai-ko worked diligently while whistling a soft song that brought her memories of her own home. She worked feeling the stone, sensing the shape. Each stroke making the stone come closer to the final shape. The shape had an ambiguous gender, since little was known about Yama no kami, yet it looked like a strong protector and guardian. With a gentle gaze of a parent observing the children that it nurtures.

-Art Exhibition. Sculpting/Agility. 3 raises, TN25: 43 - 4 Points

Total 6 Points, thank you Gusai-san

Still annoyed at himself for his earlier failures, Gusai finds his way into the dojo, seeing the art contest in progress--and smiling to see Sasori at last. But, seeing art in progress, and recalling the previous day's knot-work, he puts his hands and talents to that end. With some effort--obvious effort in the event, he produces an exceptionally intricate, beautiful knotted net, perhaps a foot across and suitable for hanging on a wall or displaying on a table.

He looks at others' works, and while he may have things to say, he is holding off for the moment...

by Doji Misaki
Misaki decided to combine art with craft to pull out something she'd been thinking about making since she'd found someone who could cut quartz crystal. She'd taken wafers of that and put them in copper frames thusly.

Image

She wore them and showed them off as art, though she made sure not to walk as she did so this time, in case she should trip again. So she shall stay solidly in place, her eyes invisible behind the quartz. Sure, they were very specialized to make, having to had a piece of good quartz to cut. Not that it was expensive like diamonds or gold, but it was still an expense as such. So for now, the spectacles for dimming bright light were more a prototype or for samurai... one day, she would find a way to make them practical for those in the fields. Or, even more important, for sailors to dim the sunlight coming off the water combining with that from the sky.

One day.

With a drink of water in her hands, Sagara walked around the room. She paced and looked at each object with interest, but there was one that caught her eye from its uniqueness and detailed work.

"Art can be made from so many things. From complicated instruments, from the fluid movement of the body, and the most complicated is to create art from the simplest of things. From a rock, like I have made, from ropes like Otomo Gusai-sama has just done. Through the agile and expert movement of his hands Otomo Gusai-sama has demonstrated that beauty can be created when you have passion and mastery in what you do."

Positive Critique Otomo Gusai. Etiquette/Awareness. Disturbing C TN20: 30 - +1 Art Point to Otomo Gusai

"Yet my own art here pales in comparison to what Anjing Sagara has done," Gusai replies, "for while my art can be made the more easily, it can be undone just as swiflty--with but a simple tug or two. Hers, however, will endure, likely after any of us; mine might delight, but hers will endure and inspire."

She inspires me in some ways, he thinks, but he says nothing of that.

by Jiyo Ayumu
There were not that many art forms one could achieve a semblance of result with quickly but Ayumu knew the basics of one of them.

Using a piece of wood from the garden and an all-purpose knife, he began sculpting a simple statuette of the sun goddess herself. After having had to deal with scions of darkness all day, an incarnation of light felt appropriate.

He quietly dropped it off among the other items exposed before going on with his day.

by Isawa Kyosei
Since he had heard rumors of this event, Kyosei had anticipated it. Only to have this day happen. But, even tired as he was, he was still willing to try his art. He had brought his files, his chisel and hammer, everything he would need. Including a piece of stone to carve. One that clearly was not pre-prepared.

His area isn't the quietest of the various artists. In fact, it's probably the loudest. You just can't work on stone without making noise. However, he works swiftly, and presents a piece which appears to be a bear laying down, with an impression of three lumps hiding under it. Might as well go with what is happening as inspiration, right?

Rei arrived late and hurriedly drew schematics for a large, impressive palace. It was, in its way, beautiful, until the Bat began writing notes all over it.
