[Kakita]

He tilted his head to the side and thought, “You look.”

He then paused, “I find that… it is in the strangest places that you find your ‘self’. There are moments that stick… that resonate through the murkiness of life. For me… it’s been a collection of things. The death of my mother… Getting beaten by birdmen in the mountains until I couldn’t move… Coming home to a place that no longer wanted me there… Talking with a demon face to face…”

He let out a slow breath, “Even a moment like this… a moment of reflection and understanding… Any moment; but you have to be looking.”

[Shosuro]

"I see..." Shosuro responded with a small nod. "... If you were to ever find yourself on your own once more, you would be welcome with the Shosuro."

[Kakita]

He nodded appreciatively, “If I were to lose another name… being named Shosuro* would be appropriate. If not Mushosuro.”

He turned to her, “How did you decide upon that name?”

[Shosuro]

"... It was the name my parents game me. I never changed it," she replied simply. "... Though it's an odd name."

[Kakita]

He nodded, “Names can have great power. It’s one of the few things that last beyond us. Whatever the reason your parents gave you that name… I’m sure you will give it the meaning it deserves.”

[Shosuro]

"A name that's just... name feels like a blank slate," she replied. "Perhaps it's a call to action, though. Once I find myself, I can put a name on it."

[Kakita]

He smiled softly, “Not a bad situation to be in. An open horizon… in some ways I envy you.”

[Shosuro]

"What will you do, once you cut out that illness?"

[Kakita]

He paused and a blank look came across his face, “I uhh… don’t know… I haven’t ever thought of it.”

[Shosuro]

She can't help but giggle a little. "You remind me of a bride who hasn't considered what life would be like after her wedding. I suppose we're both kind of like that right now."

[Kakita]

He smiled softly, “Not nearly as much to look forward to after like after a wedding ceremony.”

[Shosuro]

"There could be a wedding ceremony some time after that, too, though," she noted. "So if you think about it, there's even more than after a wedding ceremony."

[Kakita]

He nodded, “I suppose you are right… I’ve just been so focused on this ever since I began training on it.”

His gaze slipped back into the look he had before, “And that focus I will need for the day after tomorrow. After that… then maybe I can think about what comes next.”

[Shosuro]

She nodded quietly. "I should go see about my duties. Please be careful, Kakita-san." It was only when she moved her hand away that it was obvious it had simply stayed rested on his arm the whole time.

[Kakita]

He nodded and then bowed deeply.

“Thank you, Shosuro-sama. It is good to have an ally in these things. Be well.”

[Shosuro]

"You, as well."
