A party of drinking and carousing? Ugh, no. Satsuki felt she was at her limit with big groups of people today, and she wanted to save her energy for the storytelling later hosted by the monks.

So while others were partying, the Dragon princess found a quiet place to sit by herself, with her legs folded into the lotus position under the wide skirt as she easily slipped into a deep meditation.

Viveki had decided that visiting the temple was likely something best done when it was empty, so what better time than when everyone was carousing?

She was surprised, then, to find a very quiet woman sitting alone by herself in the temple. The other woman didnt immediately react to her presence, though, so Ciceki approached the shrines and began examining them with curiosity.

*Snip*
Satsuki must have fallen asleep, because she feels herself wake up with a start to a young man's voice. He is bowed deeply. "Excuse me, Togashi-sama, I have a message for you."

~~

From Viveki's perspective, nothing has changed. Satsuki remains still in meditation. It's just the two of them there.

The white-haired maiden sat almost statuesque in her position, legs crossed and hands resting against her knees with the palms turned up to the sky with her fingers barely folding together to close the hand.

--

Opening her eyes, Satsuki looked to the voice of the young man. "Yes...?" a message for her? From who? And delivered by who? Her eyes blinked as she got her bearings.

Viveki continues to examine the shrine, oblivious to the weird things happening around her.

He held out a scroll toward her rather insistently. "I was told it was very urgent, Togashi-sama."

"Ah...yes..." not one to question those appearing before her quickly, she reached out and accepted the scroll. "He? Father?" Satsuki asked as she unrolled the scroll to read.

The characters twist on the page, but she can understand them.

Sweet wisdom drips from the depths of the night sky and runs in black creeping rivulets into cracks and crevices. Find it, drink, and know truth.

The ink begins to liquefy and drip down the page, over her fingers. The messenger is gone.

That wasn't... that didn't seem right!

Satsuki let go of the scroll, and in a fit on panic tried to snap out of her deep trance.

She snaps out of her trance easily enough - nothing has changed aside from the new person nearby.

"K---" No, Ko wasn't here, so she squashed that cry of worry.

Trembling slightly, both from the panic and from sitting still too long, she looked down at her hands. Who were thankfully not covered in spooky ink. Then she looked at the new person.

"... Did you see anyone nearby just now?"

Viveki blinks in surprise. "No, you were in a trance when I arrived some minutes earlier."

"... I see..." she gave the strange woman a curious look. She didn't look like anyone else she'd met before.

"My apologies for not seeing you arrive earlier then. I was... yeah, in a trance. But thank you for not disturbing me."

She waves the comment away. "Is nothing. In my homeland, we have gurus who do much the same. It is very rude to bother them when they are... well, like that."

"Gu-ru?" She did her best to mimc the word but didn't quite manage it fully. "What is a gu-ru? What is your homeland? Are there many of these gu-rus there?"

"Ah, yes." She clasps her hands together and bows. "I am Viveki Doshi, of the Doshi family, of the Ivory Kingdoms."

"A guru is a spiritual guide and teacher who helps people walk the path meant for them to walk. I do not know how many there are in the Ivory Kingdoms, but they are not uncommon." She grins. "Some of them can be very strange."
