[Kakita]

He smiled softly, “Nasty little beasts, ne? At least you learned young that the prettiest things can still have quite the bite.”

He leaned back onto the bench, “Let’s see… I used to dream of becoming the fastest blade in the Empire. Used to imagine myself downing evil foes left and right with swift masterful strokes…”

[Nanzi Ananzihime]

She looked curious. "How do you feel about that now?"

[Kakita]

He chuckled, “There’s still part of that kid in there somewhere…”

He added, “I like to think it’s less about me anymore though… try to be strong for others… that’s the thought at least.”

[Nanzi Ananzihime]

She chuckled as well.

"Just don't try to be so strong for others that you don't feel like there's any room for yourself, too."

[Kakita]

He nodded and then tilted his eyebrow, “Is that your next revelation?”

[Nanzi Ananzihime]

"I suppose it is. I wish I could live for myself a little more." She shook her head. "I had my life all but planned out."

[Kakita]

“What would you do… if you were the sole planner?” He asked.

[Nanzi Ananzihime]

"Hmm... If I had my own interests to pursue... I would have liked to study metallurgy, and armor and weaponsmithing."

[Kakita]

He smiled softly, “Truly? A unique interest. Oddly… it is one that I share. I suppose your father’s interests play some part in this fascination?”

[Nanzi Ananzihime]

"Not exactly. I just... like them. I see where something could be done even better," she replied with a shrug. "Tools of death, but the elegance of a well-made blade speaks to me more than poetry."

[Kakita]

He gently pulled his sheathed katana from his obi.

“Would you like to see mine? I forged it myself under the tutelage of a master smith in the far north…”

[Nanzi Ananzihime]

"Definitely," She replied without even an attempt to be genteel about it.

[Kakita]

He gently handed over the katana and stood up to crest space for her to inspect the world’s first Kakita blade.

[Nanzi Ananzihime]

She hummed as she looked over it carefully. "Mm... This is really something special."

[Kakita]

He watched silently as she examined the blade.

“The blade of a warrior is an extension of his soul if crafted in the proper way.”

[Nanzi Ananzihime]

"That must be quite a pure soul, then," she noted as she handed it back.

[Kakita]

“One that strives to be at least…” He replied as he took it back into his hands.

“And one who wishes you the best.” He bowed.

“Be yourself, Lady Nanzi. Do that which calls to you and you will find the Honesty you seek. Life is simple… if you allow it to be.”

He smiled softly and bowed once again in parting, “Be well.”
