[D6, EA] Imperial Court, Part 3

Shiba sits on the dais, toward the front to more easily be able to speak to anyone who approaches with business for him. His court hovers near to deal with smaller issues. Tea and snacks are set out as well for people who want to discuss business with one another or simply socialize.

Gusai bows himself into the room, then kneels to make a full bow to His Majesty. There will be things to discuss with several people--and he will be here for them.

(Please quote the Pirate Stag to talk to him!)

Sora entered the room, and, as was his custom, knelt to Shiba before rising to his feet to make the rounds.

To honor the Imperial families she wore several layers that gave the suggestion of their colors with a theme of foxes upon her kimono. She even wore a jade phoenix pin to keep her hair in place. She bowed respectfully to the dais and then found a place to observe with her retinue.

During the Court of Day 6, a letter is passed among the various courtiers and around the common areas before ultimately finding its way into a child's hands hours later, as intended...

D6

During the court period of the day, a letter on plain and serviceable paper is circulated around the court. Its stated destination is to a young girl by the name of Mayumi, and the message is signed by her mother, the monk Nozomi. The calligraphy is clean and neat, despite the rough hands that make it and the paper is folded cleanly enough to draw the eye of any courtier, perhaps if only for the unexpected oddity of seeing a monk not known for her courtly capacities having done this.

Anyone who reads the text will find a not-so-subtle hint underlying the message. It is a rather open invitation for the person reading to be present at dawn the following morning in the Gardens, and seems to imply that something related to meditation or silence will be occurring there. The invitation is clearly meant for Mayumi, but is so broadly intended that it encompasses anyone who reads it.

A Garden's Silent Morning
Inspiration Comes
(OOC: Game of Letters entry Here. This is an Invitation to Nozomi's Meditation/Silence themed event, Early Morning D7 in the Gardens)
Nozomi herself arrived with her daughter in tow, bowing low to the Emperor as was befitting them and only rising when appropriate. Her daughter followed her and she looked around the chambers before catching sight of the Doji. For just a moment, she considered approaching Dojihime. But, rather than directly approach, she hesitated a moment and settled into a spot along the wall nearby, where she could be seen by her. Perhaps today was a good day to seek Shiba's wisdom, perhaps another... She was still deciding.

After feeling ill the day before, and thus staying in his room, Kyosei once more moves into the world. He bows to the Emperor, then looks around to see what he can help with.

As was her habit, Ayano arrived at court. After the proper deference was made, the Lioness lingered near the throne. Likely seeking to speak with the Emperor again.

Shiba nodded to Ayano. "You return, Makime-san. What brings you before me today?"

As the Emperor spoke to Ayano, Yuzuru slowed his approach with a tap on the thigh to let Hsieh-Hsieh know they'd be taking the scenic route to the dais, so the Lion could complete her business first.

The Ki-rin girl was not a frequent sight at the court, but she was there on this day. The same purple and black garment with blue-greenish details on her and a simple woven reed bracelet signaled at least *some* effort at a good presentation - and, this time, the basket she was usually seen with was strapped across her back.

She knelt and bowed to the dais, first to Shiba, then with a kind smile - that she knew would not be seen - to Yuzuru. Another kind smile was given to the fox... and she wondered whether Yuzuru would sense that, for a moment.

Standing up, she walked through the room slowly, as if waiting for someone.

Eventually, Nozomi moved over and bowed low to the Doji. Not as low, obviously, as she would to the Emperor or Consort, but there was an obvious deference there. Never hurt to be careful with the Crane. Her daughter came along with and bowed low at her direction. The Doji had wanted to meet her, had she not? And beside that, there had been at least one question Dojihime had addressed when they last spoke that might deserve the Emperor's attention, if he was willing to field it.

Ayano bowed deeply, "A simple request my Lord Shiba. The Makime family has spent considerable time practicing the larger understanding of Lord Akodo's art. I wish to share one of our methods with those who are willing tomorrow, with your permission. It is an exercise not to different from the one Lord Akodo used to test those at the tournament. If it pleases your Majesty or your Consort I also wish to invite you to observe or participate."

"Ah, I believe I remember. With the miniature troop figures," he replied with a nod. "Of course, you are welcome to. We will see what we can do about attending. Thank you, Makime-san."

"Ah...well yes there will be some of those too," Ayano stifled a nervous laugh and then bowed and backed away. "Thank you Lord Shiba."

A someone that she expects in court arrives a short time later, as carefully put together as the Lion had been for the great wedding. The shiny copper kimono, clearly of Makime silk, makes the tall woman a rather brilliant figure amid the throng. With hair braided around the crown of her head and then into a long tail down most of her back, Akodo Kawauso looked like she was in the right place. Engaging in all the proper steps as she entered, bowed, then stepped aside and drifted through the room, only those who'd really paid attention would recall she wasn't a regular at court.

As always Tsubaki was circulating the court making small talk. Her new crown of flowers, though still with the slightest hint of the stag horns it was built upon, nestled into her hair.

Sora took note of his two fishing partners- and his son's current puppy crush, the drifting Scorpion, the one-eyed Stag, and Ayano....

And simply took a turn about the room.

Sagara was not a common sight at the court, but on that day she wore her best kimono and decided to go into the court room after the inspiration of the small monk the day before. The smallest of the crab woman in the city knelt before the Emperor, reaching the floor with her forehead in respect to the guiding light of the Empire.

With Ayano's business done, Yuzuru completed his 'scenic route' to the dais and took his place beside Shiba, with a curious smile on his face.
