As on the day before yesterday, Shiba sits on the dais, toward the front to more easily be able to speak to anyone who approaches with business for him. His court hovers near to deal with smaller issues. Tea and snacks are set out as well for people who want to discuss business with one another or simply socialize.

As usual, Sora entered.

And as was his apparent habit, he knelt to his Emperor, rather than doing a standing bow.

Today, Gusai attends the Imperial Court, wearing the best that he has.

He bows into the room, makes a full zarei to the Emperor, and offers a standing bow to Sora.

Always good to cover the bases.

And then he approaches the dais and waits to be recognized.

Kinsen arrives in court with the majorly white dress Doji-kami herself had made for the wife of Hantei. She provides a low bow to the Emperor and takes a spot near the tea, with her eyes on Gusai and Sora for the moment.

Not one to break with habit, Hadananzi made himself present at court. With a bow to the dais, he makes his way to the refreshments, selecting some tea to drink as he watches the proceedings.

Genji arrived with the rest of the delegation of his clan. He bowed and stood like a proper samurai.

Kuu was present, even though he had missed the previous day. He sat and people watched like a champion people watcher, waiting until someone approach or something curious enough drew his attention.

The Doji heiress arrived and approached the dais calmly and waited to be recognized.

A soft padding of paws preceded a swishing of fabric as the Consort entered and was led to his position beside the Emperor.

Gusai, of course, makes way for the Lord Consort as he continues to await acknowledgement.

He has a thing to say.

Rei entered and bowed with deep respect. She noted line of individuals seeking to speak with the Emperor. She hesitated for a moment, but took a place behind the others.

Ayano entered the courtroom and approached the dais as well. She stayed back a respectful distance, waiting for the Emperor to finish speaking with those before her.

Nozomi slipped into the court, offering a very low, appropriate bow. Her daughter did likewise, but clamped her mouth shut for once in her life the moment they walked in. She could count one... two... maybe three approaching the Imperial Dias and waiting to be recognized. Oh, my, this was a busy day. Mother had mentioned this happened. Nozomi, for her part, narrowed her gaze as she took it in. Crane, Stag, Lion... this was indeed busy, and when those three all had business? She motioned for her daughter to follow once she was permitted the freedom, settling into a seat and keeping herself available if anyone approached.

Two days had gone by and Kotsume hadn't actually come to the court. She didn't think she would be able to deliver Chaihime's message anytime soon - and in fact there was some discussing she'd like to do before that - but she knew she should at least show her face now and then...

Once again in the purple and white kimono-like garment with greenish-blue details she had worn during the wedding reception, she kneels and bows to the ground to honour the emperor. After standing, she walks around nodding deeply to those she meets and passes, slightly nervously and, for now at least, quiet.

Thus bidden, Gusai bows again.

"Majesty, it's a simple thing. The Great Clan of the Stag is pleased to present to the court an exhibition and contest of sumai, allowing the mighty in attendance to demonstrate their skill and strength in amity and harmony, for the glory of the Throne! Wanted to be sure that Your Majesty and the Lord Consort knew you're most certainly welcome and, if it please you, to announce it before all."

Turning slightly--because showing the Emperor your back is generally...inadvisable--Gusai pitches his voice to carry across the deck, meaning it fills the room quite well. "Come, test yourself--or cheer on your favored competitors, exhorting them to victory! Space will be set up in the dojo in the early evening, whether for participating or for watching, and the Stag are happy to host people informally afterwards!"

Turning to face the Emperor fully, Gusai bows again. "All thanks and praise to Your Majesty, may You reign long!"

And that done, he withdraws--unless the Emperor bids him otherwise.

Still unable to reliably get the wagons moving, Kyosei again enters the court, in the audience Hall. After a bow to the Emperor, he moves to the sides, and observes.

Kogi also approaches the Emperor and Consort (and Very Important Vulpine!) on their dais, waiting politely to be recognized after Dojihime.

He nodded to the Stag, expression neutral. "Thank you, Otomo-san."

He turned to the Doji heiress with a small smile with a hint of familial familiarity. "It is a pleasure to see you again, Doji-san. What brings you before me?"

“Honord Uncle, this one is humbled by your attentions,” she said bowing low.

“I bring only a humble request on behalf of the Crane in attendance, in the coming days we shall endeavor to put on a play to honor those that acted in your name and saved your honored brother, and my honored uncle, Hisomu of the Spider. We would be elated and honored to count you and yours,” Dojihime fluttered her fan towards the Consort and the ever present vulpine escort, “if you could attend. This one knows your time is precious but she would be remiss if she did not offer her Honored Uncle a most personal invitation to the play.”
