Re: [D2, EA] Imperial Court, Part 1 (Open, Event)

"Does that not risk complacency? If heroes strive to shoulder the cost, does it not prevent the layman from learning the value of their life? I don't mean to speak low of your order, but my curiosity is strong in this. What prevents the common man from relying on the heroes and potentially shirking...

Re: [D2, EA] Imperial Court, Part 1 (Open, Event)

"A noble way to look at it. Where one person sees only sinners and bandits, another sees the opportunity to be something greater. Rising above our faults despite having so many. A grand idea indeed." Hadananzi stroked his chin in thought, contemplating the monk's words. He seemed, for the moment, t...

That I do not know. It's a question for the GMs. That's usually a more larger landscape issue.

Re: [Day 1 EM, open] Cold Habits

"Ask a servant and the answer will be even more drastically different," Kuu replies. "But peoples thoughts on such in the present can be different from how they see actions in the past. They tend to agree in larger numbers that certain events were more terrible or dangerous, and the people that deal...

Re: [D2, EA] Imperial Court, Part 1 (Open, Event)

Hadananzi nodded his understanding, though it was starting to get a bit lofty for his tastes. "I see, I see. You teach even now the lessons of your order to one such as I, with little understanding of the nature of heroism. I had narrowed my focus only to those who had adversaries to define themsel...

Re: [Day 1 EM, open] Cold Habits

"Colleague is not an inaccurate term, but we tend to call each other sister and brother in the order, and welcome those outside the order to do the same," he says with a smile. "And that is the way of children isn't it? Full of energy, curious about the world, lacking a filter for the things they sa...

Re: [D2, EA] Imperial Court, Part 1 (Open, Event)

"Oh, of course. Teaching such simply to anyone doesn't speak to the heart of finding heroes. Anyone can be a hero, but not everyone will be. There need be villains for there to be heroes to oppose them, yes? It wouldn't do well to teach powerful techniques to those who might misuse them for persona...

Re: [D2, EE] The Stag Ball [Player Event]

Kuu arrives in... his only set of clothing. Monks are not blessed with large wardrobes. But he does have a new mask that he has apparently constructed from some sort of paper like material. It appears to have a hand print over the eyes and text that reads 'You Can't See Me'. It was really well done ...

Re: [D2, EA] Imperial Court, Part 1 (Open, Event)

"Fascinating, truly fascinating. I never would have thought mankind was capable of such power." The way Hadananzi said mankind was a bit off putting. "And anyone can achieve this through study and meditation? It seems a small price to pay for such great rewards." "Anyone, yes. Though that particula...

"The spirit of heroism. Sounds like a lovely ideal to live up to. I've heard much of this Shinsei, though I've not had the pleasure of meeting him myself... You say he identified the people who saved Hisomu-kami? How did he achieve that?" Hadananzi inclined his head to the side in a curious gesture...

Re: [D2LA] Bonsai Bonanza (PLAYER EVENT)

Kuu had heard of this interesting art form. He was not a master in any arts, but he had dabbled in so many. But this one dealt with little trees and that sounded unique so he decided to give it a go. Unlike most people who had to rush around outside in the snow and cold, Kuu cut a path slowly throug...

Re: [D2, EA] Imperial Court, Part 1 (Open, Event)

"Your order sounds quite formidable then. I would hate to cross one of your brethren on a bad day." Hadananzi smiled, but it didn't quite reach his eyes. Any human capable of such feats? "May I ask what brings you to the imperial capitol this winter?" "I am a scribe of my order, so I travel a lot o...

"Still, even as a byproduct this places you in a unique position among those not of your order. I certainly couldn't leap a great distance or walk on water if I were to attempt it. What seems mundane to you is fascinating to those of us without such extraordinary abilities." "While it may not be mu...

Re: [D2, EA] Imperial Court, Part 1 (Open, Event)

Hadananzi raised his eyebrows slightly. "You can do that yet consider yourself only of average fortitude. Perhaps I should meet more of your order, if such an amazing feat is considered less than astounding." He shook his head slowly. "I find the idea fascinating, to be able to melt snow with only ...

"Ah, a monk of the order I've heard so much about. It is pleasant to meet you, Kuu-san. I must admit that I haven't traveled outside the castle walls much since the snow began to fall. I've heard the cold is quite bracing, you must have quite the fortitude to travel out within it so casually." "Not...

Hadananzi inclined his head in a brief nod, before returning the bow with a pleasant smile. "Aside from the weather I should say today has treated me quite well indeed, thank you for inquiring. And may I ask in return how the day is treating you...?" He trailed off, not knowing the name of the monk...

Re: [D1 EA] Blessings of Peace

"That might be helpful, but a monk scribe is likely not much help with that. If it is primarily a southern problem the discussion likely needs to include a Stag samurai," he says with a nod. "But I do agree it's important."
